Our Mission
We minister in the name of Jesus to the tribal people of the Golden Triangle and Myanmar refugees through rural community development projects, evangelism, Bible training, meeting physical needs, and networking with other mission groups to improve their quality of life on earth while securing their eternal destiny in the kingdom of God.
Why This Need
The tribal people located in the mountainous area of the Golden Triangle are largely isolated, have had very limited exposure to Christianity, and generally lack basic quality-of-life necessities such as fresh water. The tribal people desire to remain in their small community and continue their rural way of life. The combination of fresh water and Christianity strengthens and reshapes their rural communities greatly improving the quality of life and promoting the bonds of love through Christ to care for each other.
The influx of Myanmar refugees from their civil war into northern Thailand has significantly increased the demands for necessities and opened the opportunity to reach Myanmar citizens with the Gospel using the same methodology used by New Heights Ministry – Meet basic needs, show the love of Christ, build a relationship, while introducing the Gospel. These under-resourced refugee camps have created a humanitarian crisis not unlike the war they sought to escape. New Heights ministry seeks to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of the refugees while equipping and training Myanmar Christian leaders to lead their people while in the camps and when they return home.
The need has never been greater for the New Heights ministry. The villages of the same tribe throughout the Golden Triangle communicate and the word has spread about work of New Heights bringing in freshwater storage and the Gospel. The demand for our help is increasing beyond our current capabilities and funding is needed to expand our ministry to more tribal villages and refugee camps. Our mission director, Jung Dangshing has spent the last 16 months coordinating New Heights mission activities with various Global and Thailand agencies serving the refugee camps to increase efficiencies and reduce duplication of efforts. These agencies are asking for more help from New Heights.
Why New Heights Ministry
Our Director of New Heights, Jung Dangshing, was born in Burma, received Bible training in Thailand, and has served as a missionary to the Golden Triangle for 28 years employing this ministry methodology. He is adept at developing native missionaries, evangelists, and pastors to serve the tribal people. Jung is also a graduate of Colorado Christian University (CCU) in Denver, Colorado, with a degree in Organizational Management and Christian Leadership, to ensure sound business practices in the stewardship of financial gifts. Jung excels at integrating visiting missionaries from the United States to complete community development projects and short-term Bible trainings. The primary team of engineers from the United States has been building the freshwater storage systems since 2001 and is fully immersed in the New Heights Ministry methodology.
To love well and change lives through Jesus Christ.
