Our Story
We minister in the name of Jesus to the unreached and needy tribal people and refugee camps of the Golden Triangle. We introduce the unconditional love of Jesus by supplying village communities with a large, concrete, freshwater storage system that will deliver fresh water to every villager for decades. Having fresh water for drinking, cooking, and cleaning significantly reduces the infant mortality rate and extends the length and quality of life for every villager. Each freshwater storage system is constructed in only eight days using New Heights missionaries and villagers working side by side. However, preparation for the building site and gathering of construction material takes several months.
The construction of the freshwater storage system acts as a bridge between the New Heights missionaries/evangelists and the villagers. Following the completion of the water tank, New Heights evangelists routinely visit the villages furthering relationships while at the same time introducing Jesus. The villagers are already spiritual people and the transition from their gods to the only God that is real and loves us beyond measure is not a large step because of the love shown to them by the New Heights missionaries. As the villagers begin to accept Christ and learn more about God from the Bible, New Heights evangelists will begin developing Christian leadership in the villages. This process requires time to produce results. We have learned to wait upon the Holy Spirit to move among the villagers and then things progress quickly.
New Heights also provides seminary training and will seek to place and support a pastor and his family in each village when approved by the village chief. Along with our ministry among the tribal people, New Heights has expanded its ministry to reach the Myanmar refugees who live in squatter camps along the Northern Thailand border. New Heights missionaries assist the refugee camp leaders from the Thai government, other agencies, and mission groups in meeting the physical and spiritual needs of Myanmar refugees. New Heights is also identifying, equipping, and training Myanmar Christian refugees to lead Bible studies in the camps. We seek to prepare them to start and lead churches when they return home.
The methodology of New Heights Ministry in reaching tribal people has evolved over two decades and has proven effective in bringing entire villages to Jesus. We now have the opportunity to reach the tribal people from Myanmar while they remain in Northern Thailand waiting for the war to end. We are now seeking global prayer and financial support to expand the New Heights ministry in the Golden Triangle to include the Myanmar refugees.
Our Vision
The methodology of the New Heights Ministry has proven effective in reaching isolated tribal people who desire to remain in their villages and retain their way of living. Christianity greatly complements small rural communities by building bonds of love and care among the villagers. As we know, Christianity creates feelings of joy and contentment while removing doubts about the future. This is essential for small rural communities to thrive. Christianity brings the kingdom of God to villagers that will meet their every need while negating the deceptive lure of the world. New Heights Ministry seeks to expand our influence in the Golden Triangle and share our methodology with other churches and mission groups that are led to ministry to isolated rural communities
To love well and change lives through Jesus Christ.
