Dear New Heights Ministry Partners,
The prophet writes in Isaiah 45:8a, “You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down.” This quarter for New Life Ministry was a time of physical rain and most certainly the rain of righteousness. Throughout north and central Thailand, the rain in September was heavy and continuous. By early October, the daily rain had not let up and there was grave concern that the villagers would be able to harvest their crops and the harvest would be lost. The harvest is the only means of income for most villagers for the entire year. If the villagers do not have money, even the shopkeepers in the village are not able to stay in business. The loss of the harvest would be a disaster for every village family. The rains continued into October resulting in flooding throughout the country.
On October 4, in the early morning hours, the water runoff from the mountains begin to flood Chiang Mai, reaching the New Heights Ministry facility. The photo below shows the water lever reached nearly three feet outside of our ministry headquarters in less than 24 hours.

The flooding was a disaster for New Heights Ministry Director Jung Dangshing, our evangelists who live in the mountain villages, and all the villagers. Ministry supporters in the United States and Thailand began to pray that God would save the harvest and restore the losses the villagers suffered. By mid-October, the rains slackened and the flooding slowly receded. In early November many of the roads in the mountains were passable and New Heights Ministry doubled its efforts to minister to the villagers. Mission Director Jung Dangshing and our ministry evangelists were able to bring food, prayer, and help to many villages.

Gaw Betha is a remote Karen Tribe village in Tha Song Yang District, Tak Province. It is not possible to reach
the village by automobile. Jung and four New Heights Ministry evangelists had to walk the last four miles. Fortunately, several villagers on scooters met Jung and helped transport the food donations to the village. Gaw Betha has fifty families in the village, one-third being Christian and the rest Aminists. Food was given to every family that came to the church. The Gaw Betha village is visited regularly by New Heights evangelist Waymu Thoettonpanitch.
Before leaving Gaw Betha, Jung preached a message of encouragement from the Bible. Ministry evangelist Sukchai Kiatdee translated the message into Karen (photo on right). This same ministry outreach was repeated in several mountain villages in November and December. New Heights ministry is blessed to have nine supported evangelists who each visit several villages in the areas where they live. This type of outreach is only possible because of the prayer and financial support provided by you. It is the righteousness of your support that rained miracles on these villages. Miraculously, through the prayers of many in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the villagers were able to harvest in late November and early December. As Isaiah foretold God’s people, “You heavens above, rain down righteousness; let the clouds shower it down.” The unbelievers in the villages saw the righteous hands of God at work through New Heights Ministry made possible by your support. Thank you.
The highlight of December’s mission activities was a 2-day Christmas Outreach program in the Beroa village in Mae Hong Son Province. Beroa is a larger village with an established independent church. Upon seeing the work of New Heights Ministry and our evangelists in the province, Beroa church leaders asked to become an active partner in New Heights Ministry. The villagers of Beroa are a mix of both Karen and Thais. Our evangelists organized this outreach program and invited non-Christian Karens and Thais from the nearby Mae Po, Mae Ka Kalang, and Kimi villages. Many unbelievers, especially young people attended the Christmas outreach program. The expenses for this program were paid by the New Heights Ministry. The Beroa church was happy to offer their facilities for this outreach program.

On both days, Jung and our evangelists led day and night services and offered Bible training and special programs.

This new strategic partnership with the Beroa Church will be used as a model to expand the evangelical ministry and increase rural community development projects, evangelism training, Bible training, church planting, and meeting the physical needs of villagers. This two-day Christmas Outreach Program proved highly successful and illustrates the potential of a mission ministry and church partnership. New Heights Ministry will continually evaluate this partnership, refine roles and responsibilities, and then determine if future partnerships with other independent village churches are warranted.
2024 REVIEW. This past year was the first full year of New Heights Ministry operations. It was a year of amazing expansion made possible by the hand of God and through the generous giving and prayers of our supporters. We began the year constructing a 20,000- gallon freshwater concrete storage tank in the Kong Kaek village (shown on the right). We went from zero to twelve supported Karen and Aka New Heights Ministry evangelists who significantly multiplied our effort to bring the love of Jesus to many more mountain villages in Northern Thailand. Evangelists Chakrakpan, Laye Faimitaree, and Yu Pawba Mission Director have just recently joined New Heights Ministry. Jung Dangshing greatly expanded our ministry by creating strategic partnerships with existing, like-minded ministries that included a Thailand Bible School, an independent church, and other Christian missions operating in Northern Thailand. New Heights Ministry extended our rural community development projects and evangelism efforts into several of the Myanmar Refugee Camps along Thailand’s northern and western borders. We delivered
needed food and Bible training directly to the camps as well as many mountain villages between Chiang Mai and the borders (shown on left). The mission vision to “Love Well, Change Lives, Through Christ” was the foundation of all New Heights Ministry mission activities throughout the year. Mission Director Jung Dangshing provided strong Bible training to our mission evangelists and pastors emphasizing that all mission personnel are to live like Christ and to minister like Christ. Several times each month Jung visited villages throughout the region delivering food, and gifts, and always preaching the Word of God to the villagers. Most of all, we rejoice and praise God for the many professions of faith and baptisms of our new brothers and sisters in Christ. To God alone be the glory.
2025 PREVIEW. This coming year will be a continuing expansion of the New Height Ministry with special emphasis on fertilizing the seeds planted in new villages in 2024. We will be organizing a plan for more follow-up visits, regular Bible Training, and community development projects. Through your prayers and financial support, we will increase the number of native evangelists and seek to establish a more visible local and regional presence.
We ask for your prayers and financial support for the upcoming week-long Bible Training Seminar in the first week of February 2025 for Myanmar Refugees near the Myanmar Border in Western Thailand. We have been offered the use of a Bible School’s facilities to conduct this seminar for fifty Myanmar refugees. The attendees will walk from the camp every morning and return every evening. Pastor Ron Oholendt from Colorado Springs will be teaching 1 Peter to the attendees. It is an appropriate study as Peter was writing to scattered Christians of the first century to prepare them for the suffering and persecution that was coming from the Roman Empire. Peter teaches his readers that to live like Christ, minister like Christ, and suffer like Christ will enable and empower them to victoriously overcome the suffering they would endure because of their faith in Jesus. These Myanmar believers are indeed suffering and being persecuted. New Heights Ministry will be providing new Bibles written in the Karen language as well as providing meals every day of the seminar. Please pray for our team to translate the teaching accurately, to reach out and connect with each student, and to avoid any politically sensitive language or discussions. This first-of-its-kind seminar required many meetings between Jung and the Thai government officials to permit this seminar and allow the refugees to leave the camp each day. God has opened this door so please pray New Heights Ministry performs its part well and that God receives all the honor and glory.
